On July 31, 2013, Health Intelligence Partners held a tabletop exercise to discuss the future of health IT. Below is a letter from David Merritt, who leads HIP, summarizing this meeting and inviting you to attend the next event!

 –

Health Intelligence Partners (HIP) recently convened a group of senior industry leaders for a strategic tabletop exercise on the future of health IT, including Dr. David Blumenthal, former National Coordinator for Health IT at HHS and member of Leavitt Partners’ FuturePanel; Jodi Daniel, Director of the Office of Policy and Planning at the Office of the National Coordinator; and Dr. Karen Bell, Chair of the Certification Commission for Health IT. The day featured insightful and valuable discussions on a wide range of critical topics.  Linked below is a document that summarizes the top five conclusions and the supporting points we gleaned from the sessions.  We hope that you can use these conclusions to better understand what is likely to be on the horizon for health IT and incorporate this thinking into your organization’s strategic planning.

We hope that you will also join us for future HIP events.  Our next tabletop exercise will be on September 17th in Salt Lake City to explore the future health care landscape for employers, from the Affordable Care Act provisions and insurance exchanges to onsite clinics to employee wellness.  We also hope you can join us for the 2nd annual HIP Member Meeting on October 22nd in Salt Lake City.  Join Gov. Mike Leavitt and some of the industry’s most prominent leaders for a day of networking with executive peers and engaging, collaborative discussions on the most important trends – and likely futures – facing health care.  Please click here to register.

Should you wish to join any event, or should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or my colleague, Sydney Barfuss, who can be reached at Sydney.Barfuss@LeavittPartners.com.  We look forward to working with you again on future events to answer the industry’s most pressing questions.

Sincerely,
David Merritt
